LETU places four on All-GSC Teams

RICHARDSON, Texas – The LeTourneau University men's basketball team had four players named to the All-American Southwest Conference Teams Wednesday.
 
JJ Rockmore earned first-team honors, while Dale Vanwright was selected second team. Will Smith garnered honorable mention honors. Rockmore was also named to the ASC East Division All-Defensive Team and Jace Williamson was selected to all-freshman team.
 
Rockmore, a native of Longview, Texas, averaged 14.9 points in 24 games. He stepped his play up in conference action, averaging 15.5 points, and led the team with 49 steals. Vanwright, a senior from Houston, Texas, led the YellowJackets in scoring by averaging 16.7 points and 5.2 rebounds. He averaged 17.4 points against ASC foes. Smith, a senior from Houston, Texas, was third on the team in scoring by averaging nine points and 6.6 rebounds. Williamson, a native of Van Alstyne, Texas, saw action in 24 games, starting three. He averaged 2.2 points.
 
Blake Mitchem of the University of the Ozarks was named the ASC East Division Player of the Year. Josh Chambers of East Texas Baptist garnered the defensive player of the year honors and Cameron Bounds of Mississippi College earned the freshmen of the year award. The ASC East Newcomer of the Year went to Donnie Haywood of Mississippi College. Andre Williams of the University of the Ozarks took the sportsmanship athlete of the year honor and UT-Dallas' Terry Butterfield was named the ASC East Division Coach of the Year.
