Mickelboro named ASC East's Hitter of the Week

EAST DIVISION HITTER OF THE WEEK
Christin Mickelboro, 2B, Sr., LeTourneau
LeTourneau senior second baseman Christin Mickelboro (Longview, TX / Longview HS) went 6-for-10 with three home runs – including two in a 6-5, 13-inning road win over Centenary – a double and two walks over three games. Mickelboro also drove in three runs and scored three times. She leads the ASC East Division in total bases (63) and slugging percentage (.768).
EAST DIVISION PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Ashton Brey, RHP, Sr., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist senior right-hander Ashton Brey (Lindale, TX / Lindale HS) tossed two complete-game shutouts, allowing just six hits – all singles – over 12 innings of work against ASC East Division opponent Ozarks. Brey also held her own in the batter's box and on the base paths, going 6-for-9 with an inside-the-park grand slam and stealing five bases. Her play allowed the Lady Tigers to extend their winning streak to seven games.
WEST DIVISION HITTER OF THE WEEK
Katie Poerner, OF, Jr., Howard Payne
Howard Payne junior outfielder Katie Poerner (Comfort, TX / Comfort HS) went 6-for-13 with a triple, a double and four runs scored to help the Lady Jackets take an ASC West Division four-game series against Texas Lutheran. Poerner also drove in two runs, walked twice and stole a base. The leadoff hitter scored at least one run in all three of HPU's wins and went 3-for-3 in Game 3 to secure the series.
WEST DIVISION PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Rebekah Ragsdale, RHP, Jr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor junior right-hander Rebekah Ragsdale (Orange, TX / West Orange-Stark HS) went 2-0 with a save in an ASC West Division four-game series with Hardin-Simmons, who was previously unbeaten in league play. Ragsdale posted an ERA of 2.33 and struck out 11 batters over 15 innings of work. Her victories were complete-game efforts. Ragsdale picked up the save by tossing a perfect seventh innings to preserve a 1-0 win in the series finale.
