LeTourneau ends season with road loss to UT-Dallas
RICHARDSON, Texas – Colleen Redmond
scored 12 points, but it wasn't enough to lift the LeTourneau
University women's basketball team as the YellowJackets
dropped their final game of the season, 57-38, to the University of
Texas at Dallas Saturday in an American Southwest Conference East
Division game at the UTD Activity Center.
Redmond was 2-of-3 from the field and 6-of-8 at the free-throw
line to pace LeTourneau (4-21 overall, 4-16 ASC). April McCamey
added 10 points as the YellowJackets were 12-of-48 shooting for 25
percent.
LeTourneau opened the game on a 10-1 run, capped by two free
throws by Redmond with 15:09 remaining in the first half as
UT-Dallas couldn't knock down a shot from the field through
nearly the first seven minutes.
The Comets (19-6, 16-4) answered the early run by the
YellowJackets by closing out the final 13 minutes of the first half
on a 20-2 run to take a 21-12 lead into the break.
UT-Dallas opened the second half on a 14-3 run to take a 35-15
advantage. LeTourneau responded by trimming the deficit to 39-24
after a McCamey jumper with 9:47 remaining.
A layup by McCamey with 4:26 left cut the margin to 44-32, but
that would be as close as the YellowJackets would get during the
final four minutes as the Comets ended the contest on a 12-6
run.
Addison led the way for UT-Dallas with 14 points, while Lauren
Hale chipped in with 11. Chelsea Edwards and Tarneisha Scott each
had 10 points as the Comets were 22-of-55 from the floor for 40
percent.
