YellowJackets take 6th at Lady Crusader Spring Invitational
SALADO, Texas – The LeTourneau
University women's golf team placed sixth during
Monday's 36-hole University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Lady Cru
Spring Invitational at Mill Creek Golf Course.
The YellowJackets finished the opening round with a 386 and a
second round for 370 for a two-round total of 756 to take sixth.
Western Texas Community College won the event with a 654. Redland
Community College was second with a 670, followed by Lubbock
Christian (690), McMurry (734) and host Mary Hardin-Baylor (738).
Oklahoma Baptist (773) finished seventh, UT-Dallas (844), eighth
and Concordia-Texas rounded out the field with a 947.
Leslie Lee paced LeTourneau by finishing tied for eighth with
an 89-83 for 172. Candice Nishimura was tied for 22 nd
with an 98-87 for 185. Melissa Freeman took 34 th with a
96-101 for 197, while Elizabeth Zapata placed 37 th with
a 104-99 for 203. Kristen Baskin rounded out the scoring by taking
39 th with a 103-102 for 205.
Redlands' Jessica Schiele won the event with a 76-76 for
152.
LeTourneau returns to the links 9:00 a.m., Monday, March 1 at
the Eagles Bluff Golf Course in the Tyler Junior College Spring
Invitational.
