WOMEN'S GOLF: Lee's 79 helps LeTourneau to third place finish at TLU Invitational
BLANCO, Texas – Leslie Lee fired a 79 on the second day of the Texas Lutheran Invitational and anchored the LeTourneau YellowJackets to a third place finish.
Lee's 79 gave her a two-day score of 175, and was the second-lowest round of the tournament after eventual individual winner Kelsey Coburn of Southwestern University.
Lee finished one stroke ahead of teammate Candice Nishimura, who turned in scores of 92 and 84.
The Jackets finished in third place with a team score of 736. LeTourneau finished American Southwest conference opponents Concordia and host Texas Lutheran.
All five LeTourneau players finished in the Top 20. Lee and Nishimura finished 11th and 12th in the individual standings, while Elizabeth Zapata and Colleen Fal finished 16th (192) and 19th (200), respectively.
Ashley Woodley finished 20th with a two-day score of 202.
The YellowJackets return to action Monday, April 4 when they compete in the Southwestern University Invitational at Round Rock, Texas.
