Nishimura Sits in Second After Day One of Lady Comet Classic

RICHARDSON - Candice Nishimura, representing the LeTourneau women's golf team, was on the road this weekend as she competed in round one of the UT-Dallas Lady Comet Classic. Nishimura was terrific all day long and currently sits in second place after the first day of play.

Nishimura shot an 82 on the afternoon, including a 41 on the front nine and then turning around for a 41 on the back nine. She was first in Par 3 scoring at +1 and second in Par 4 scoring at +8. She led the entire field in pars with 10 and was second in birdies with one. 

She is currently four strokes behind the leader, Gabby Rosales of Schreiner. She will look to make up the deficit as she returns to action for the final round tomorrow morning. Tee time is set for 8 a.m.
