UT-Dallas shuts out LeTourneau 5-0

RICHARDSON, Texas – The UT-Dallas women's soccer team proved to be too much for the LeTourneau YellowJackets to handle as the Comets claimed a 5-0 home triumph Saturday.

Leah Bowyer recorded a hat-trick for the third-place Comets (9-5-1, 7-2-1 American Southwest Conference). The loss dropped LeTourneau (0-13-1) to 0-8-1 in ASC play.

UT-Dallas kept the ball in LeTourneau's half of the field most of the afternoon. The Comets outshot LeTourneau 28-2, and did not allow the YellowJackets to take a shot during the second half.

Falon Renfroe (Corinth, Texas/Denton Guyer) made her second start for the YellowJackets and made five saves during her 80 minutes on the field. Molly Sharpe (Bosque Farms, Texas/Valencia) worked the final 10 minutes between the pipes and stopped both of the shots on goal she faced.

The YellowJackets will play their final home contests this weekend. They host Louisiana College (0-13-1) on Friday at 3 p.m.
