Women's Soccer Adds Five Student-Athletes for 2012
LONGVIEW, Texas – LeTourneau women's soccer head coach David Plunk has announced the commitments of five student-athletes who will be joining his program for the 2012 season.
Jamie Aguillen (San Antonio, Texas), Jenny Heidt (Kennedale, Texas), Maggie Judd (Bedford, Texas), Loren Roberts (Corpus Christi, Texas), and Meagan Whisenhunt (Kilgore, Texas) have pledged to play for the YellowJackets this upcoming year.
"I am very excited to have these five athletes join our program," Plunk said. "They each bring something to our program with their own unique personality and set of skills. Their competitive nature, desire to improve, and strong work ethic will make an immediate impact on the team."
Aguillen, a 5-8 goalkeeper from Antonian Preparatory College, was the captain of her high school varsity team and was a two-time first team all-district player and defensive player of the year. She led her team to the state final four in 2011. Aguillen also played for Lonestar Soccer Club (San Antonio Division).

"Jamie is a very athletic and an intelligent goalie that will make an immediate impact on the team," Plunk said. "She will provide a lot of stability and skill at that position. Jamie has the ability to inject a lot of confidence into our team and keep us in games against top-tier conference opponents. She has very good footwork and is a solid shot-stopper from post to post."
Heidt is a 5-6 midfielder/defender from Nolan Catholic High School. She was a 2011-2012 all-district performer, and an academic all-district player from 2010-12. Heidt played club soccer for Polaris SC.
"Jenny is a versatile player and competitor," Plunk said. "Among her many attributes as an athlete, some that stand out are her anticipation skills, ability to execute dangerous passes, and her transitional play. She brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic."
Judd, a 5-2 forward for Fort Worth Christian School, was a 2012 all-district forward and team captain. She was an honorable mention all-district selection from 2009-2011.
"Maggie is a solid player that will contribute right away as a forward," Plunk said. "She has a good understanding of the game. Her speed and quickness give her an edge to get past first defenders and create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates."
Roberts is a 5-5 defender from Flour Bluff High School. She was a four-time academic all-district performer and was a two-time all-district selection. Roberts played club soccer for Gulf Cost SC.
"Loren is a solid defender that will provide depth on the back line and will compete for a starting role," Plunk said. "She is a physically strong player that plays angles very well and possesses anticipation skills."
Whisenhunt, a 5-8 defender from Kilgore High School, was a 2012 all-district defender and earned academic all-district honors as well.
"Meagan will shore up our defensive line, provide us with depth, and give us a more physical presence on our team," Plunk said. "She has several tools as a player to move her around on the back line and allow us to play with different defensive schemes."
