YellowJackets drop pair at ASC West Crossover
ALPINE, Texas – The LeTourneau
University volleyball team dropped a pair of American Southwest
Conference West Division Crossover matches Saturday, falling 3-0 to
Schreiner and 3-1 to Texas Lutheran at the Pete P. Gallego Center
on the campus of Sul Ross State University.
In the opener, Schreiner took the match with scores of 25-18,
25-20 and 25-14.
Kristen Chapman led LeTourneau with seven kills, while Kathryn Drinkard added 23 assists. Magen Douglas recorded 11 digs.
Tiffany Miller led Mountaineers with six kills on 12 attempts.
Denise Pichot added 15 assists and six digs, while Audra Burnap had
13 assists and four digs.
In the second match, LeTourneau (6-18 overall, 2-12 ASC) took
the first set 28-26, but Texas Lutheran rallied, taking the match
with scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-9.
Chapman paced the YellowJackets offense with 11 kills and 13
digs for the double-double. Drinkard had 31 assists. Crystal Read
and Kayla Butcher finished with 17 and 15 digs.
Sarah Black led Texas Lutheran with 15 kills, while Amanda
Curry had 30 assists. Blair O'Brien led three Bulldog players
in double-digit digs with 20. Jessica Stetler and Chrissy Johnson
added 13 and 11, respectively.
The YellowJackets return to the court 5:00 p.m., Monday, Oct.
26 at Mississippi College in an American Southwest Conference East
Division match.
