VOLLEYBALL: Runnels named ASC East Division Offensive Player of the Week

AMERICAN SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

EAST DIVISION
OFFENSIVE - Jo Runnels, OH, So., LeTourneau
LeTourneau sophomore outside hitter Jo Runnels (Channelview, TX / CHS) hit .317 with 46 kills and seven service aces over four matches, including three at the ASC Dig Pink Crossover Challenge in Seguin, Texas. Runnels totaled match-highs of 19 kills and six aces in the YellowJackets' five-set victory over Sul Ross State, their first win of the season. Runnels also added nine digs and five blocks over 14 sets.
Runnels is the first LeTourneau volleyball player to be so honored this season. Men's cross country runner Peter Martin and men's soccer player Kyle Davis have also been honored by the conference this season.
DEFENSIVE - Tabitha Terrell, MB, So., Texas-Dallas
Texas-Dallas sophomore middle blocker Tabitha Terrell (Plano, TX / Plano East HS) had 15 blocks to fuel a 3-0 showing at the ASC Dig Pink Crossover Challenge in Seguin, Texas. Terrell, who takes the division's top weekly defensive award for the second straight week, also hit .415 with 21 kills and three digs. Terrell had a match-high eight blocks in a five-set win over host Texas Lutheran. She leads the East Division in blocks per set.
WEST DIVISION
OFFENSIVE - Madison Reyes, OH, Jr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons junior outside hitter Madison Reyes (Abilene, TX / AHS) hit .363 with 39 kills and four service aces over three sweeps at the ASC Dig Pink Crossover Challenge in Abilene, Texas. Reyes, who takes the division's top weekly offensive award for the second time this season, added 33 digs, three blocks and one assist. She is leading the league with 3.71 kills per set.
DEFENSIVE - Kristin Hammond, LIB, Sr., Howard Payne
Howard Payne senior libero Kristin Hammond (Springtown, TX / SHS) averaged 4,78 digs per set to fuel a 2-1 showing at the ASC Dig Pink Crossover Challenge in Abilene, Texas, including five-set conference victories against East Texas Baptist and Mississippi College. Hammond, who takes the division's top weekly defensive award for the second time this season, also added five service aces and two assists. She helped the Lady Jackets rally from two sets down in each win and had a match-high 25 digs in a loss to Centenary.
